I'm impressed that Mr. Kamen had the good taste to leave the original word intact to continue its role while coining a new homonym of the word to identify his creation. The word Segway conjures the idea of moving from current transportation methods to a new mode unlike any that preceded it. If all commercial enterprises would be as creative and felicitous when choosing names there would be far fewer listings on the Word Pirates website.
